I have prepared an emission inventory for different air pollution sources of an area and digitalized using GIS software. Now, I want to use this emission inventory to do air dispersion modeling with help of AERMOD. Does this digitalized emission inventory of the area can be used directly in the source pathway of AERMOD as inputs of source characteristics?
AERMOD has been developed by US EPA and it is available for free. I would assume that there are no general import and export routines implemented to provide an interface to your GIS data. Actually, I would expect the user interface to be as cumbersome as possible. But that is only my experience from other EPA air dispersion software.
It depends on the software package. I use BREEZE AERMOD which unfortunately cannot import ArcGIS emission inventories.
