Lot of polymers are commercially available in solid form, which can be dissolved in some solvent to make a solution. By , evaporating the excess solvent one can easily synthesize thin films of polymer. I wanted to know if same process can be used to coat poly-acetylene.
yes, if you prepare a dispersion of (undoped) PAc, deposit the layer, dry it and then dope the resulting thin layer; you may want to study my first basic and groundbreaking patent on this area (if you want to get a *conductive* thin film): Patent Wessling Zipperling Basic ICP dispersion patent (1984) US4935164A
I would suggest to take DMF or NMP, after depositing and after the film has formed, drying will not be easy, so I would wash the semi-dry film using MeOH or else.

follow the links, like for polyacetylene, you need to know that it is *not* fibrillar in morphology but consists of very small globular primary particles:

this one, I had discovered and published one year before the a. m. patent, later, I found that
a) the real primary particles were even smaller (10 nm) than what I had shown in my 1983 paper (100 nm); there, I had suspected that the 100 nm particles had a fine structure, but could not verify yet
b) *all* conductive polymers consist of such 10 nm small primary particles, see here

c) these 10 nm particles (at least in the case of Polyaniline) contain relatively short chains (12 monomer units) in form of a short helix :

Zainab Raheem, sorry, but you seem not to have read literatur nor the answers above. One can not dissolve polyacetylene, nor any other conductive polymer. Please read the above mentioned publications, and for the special question why such polymers are principally insoluble, you may want to read this:

if you mean PAni doped with PSSH in water, this is definitely a dispersion, not a solution; particle size about 30 - 70 nm.
