Basically I am doing work on nanocoating and I want to coat the glass and want to inquire that will nanoparticles be able to directly coat on a glass by preparing a solution directly with nanoparticles or a precursor is needed instead of nanoparticles?

Dear Wahab, if you want to coat in manometers then you have to use physical vapour deposition or chemical vapour deposition for uniform/homogeneous coating.using dip coating of you cannot acheive uniform coating thickness. By using spray coating you can coat nanoparticles directly on to the substrate.
Dip coating is a good choice but you may not control the homogeneity of the surface. If you try spin-coating with high speed then there is a high chance to get good surface. We used spin-coating for our TiO2 and could coat 50, 100, and 150 nm thick coating with homogeneous thickness.

Maryam Wahab, what do you mean by nanocoating? Coating something with nano particles or producing a nanometer thick film by coating?
If you already have a dispersion of your nano particles, spin coating at different speeds would give a good range of different thicknesses of coatings. If you have wetting problems, perhaps try plasma treatment of the glass before you apply spin coating.
To come to the second part of your question: With a precursor you should get more homogenious films, but you have to prepare it and afterwards do a post treatment of the coated films. So start with the nano particles and have a look.
