I need to homogenize tissue samples with sucrose buffer (0.25M) and determine total proteins. Can sucrose interfere with the dye in the assay?
Sucrose does not interfere with the Bradford assay.
Yes, small amounts of sucrose can interfere with the analysis. You can coprecipitate the protein with calcium phosphate and wash it before adding the reagent with 80% ethanol.
