Can the photocatalytic activity decrease in the dark beyond 100%? I mean the organic pollutant has its absorption peak 100% and after adding catalyst absorption peak become higher than 100%. is it wrong? what may be the reason for this?

Thanks for the answers. @Prof. Lopez I am measuring the absorbance of the solution after adding the catalyst. I am using the organic dye solution as a target material and lower its concentration lowers the absorbance. but some times it happened that after adding the catalyst, absorbance increased in the dark instead of decreasing or remain the same and then after turned on the UV light, it started to decrease. is it wrong that in the dark value of absorbance increased after adding catalyst?
