So then, wouldn't containment of its possible spread be more effective than complete eradication?

As micro organisms have evolved since their existence and really human being,s knowledge about this is nothing, I would prefer containment strategies rather than eradicating.
Nowadays there is some ways to eradicate but actually we know what will happen if a specie eradicated?
