I need a fluorescent dye for my system at pH -9. Specific requirements are hydrophilic in nature and neutral. I don't wanna use the dye loaded micelles as it interferes with the experimental setup.
Is there any particular range of wavelengths for excitation and emission that you would like to use? Do you need it to be reactive or unreactive?
It is challenging to find organic fluorescence dyes that are both neutrally charged in water and hydrophilic, because organic fluorescent dyes are always aromatic, making them hydrophobic in the absence of charged groups.
