Our answer is YES. E.g., in RG, I exceeded +260,000 total reads, +14 books, +40 preprints and reports, +140 questions, and +5,000 answers.
Of these, the questions stand out for me, as providing a path to explore. They are the most important research tool, IMO.
Questions can reduce bias, and prepare room for a stronger paper. Knowing a good question, or reading about it, is very important to open new fields.

By welcoming private postings in a RG question, one reduces posturing, and avoids lurking opportunists.
These benefits are essential in serious research, and can be easily done online.
The result is less irration for everyone, and more focus, with better productivity.
The lurking opportunists or off-topic posters also have a chance, and do not have to fear criticism. The spammers just face disengagement, which is benign.

Many more people have been writing to me, and my mailbox is very accepting.
But, we live in a fluid, and many of our thoughts are not even original, or our own. Ego also interferes.
As in nature, when sand is mixed with drinking water, the solution is to let the noise sink under its own weight, and keep the attention on the signal.
The complex numbers have been followed in history without deep questioning, and their justification, in medieval Italy, was to solve the equation x^2+1=0.
But, the contrary was revealed by the FFT, that can now be entirely calculated with rational numbers, and without any trigonometric functions, or complex numbers, as:

There are no mathematical real-numbers either. Thus, the sets R and C are deprecated and the set G is superfluous. The sets R and C cannot be calculated (Gisin,Ozhigov, Gerck) with probability 1. R~Q.

I think questioning is the first fundamental part of the research in every sciences then it can proceed by logic, justification and empiric data to many plausable solutions to be tested further until the best is found by statistically and/or mathematically formulations particularly in natural sciences. Many supposed "facts" are observer-dependent, not a "fact" of Nature -- valued for friend and foe.
For example, when someone does not behave properly in RG, discussing other researchers and not issues, one has the option of isolating them. This is called technically, the prevention of an "ad hominem attack" -- attacking the person, not the argument.
This has several effects, making questions and articles more interesting, because those dissonant comments are still publicly heard but not notified privately.
Perhaps this will be insufficient and the law may require more isolation. In the U.S , this is presently a matter of discussion. In the EU it seems decided, and companies like RG are risking it. One hundred years ago, was legal in France, and people died in duels, like Galois. In Iran, it can occur freely even today and by their government. In Iran, dissidents are executed officially, many times even publicly.
Only quantum particles exist in Nature as it can be measured (Wirklichkeit). Thus, one needs to consider QM as proven by experiments. Not supposed "classical particles" nor "classical waves" -- in order to better represent the Universe as it can be measured. This extends to mathematics, and QM needs to be taken into account.
For example, one now has to accept the differentiation of Boolean signals. This legitimizes digital signals, and makes FT=FFT.

From a cybersecurity point of view, prevention wins over defense. It avoids an arms race scenario, where defenders lose. It has been happening in social media.
We learned that when duels were a legally accepted way to settle disputes -- often provoked ... to appear right on killing.
Another verification and filtering mechanism is afforded by the observation that RG questions are frequently interrupted by noise.
Then, noise contributions can be identified and the user blocked in a black-list, completing the process.
Once users get into black-lists, they usually stay a long time. This adds a deterrent factor to the users that tend to generate noise, and may be educative. The effect is a cleaner RG environment.
In an observation that may help RG, the question of trust is important.
No competent researcher is trained to tolerate abuse, and has to trust the platform to be safe, including those that try to use ad hominem attacks, gossip, cabals, squandering, or threats as "valid" methods of imposing their participation.
On the other hand, customer service workers, lawyers, or politicians, are used to this -- and can be used to provide insights how to circumvent it.
One common lesson is to introduce delay when abuse starts. Another lesson is that of no response, with disengagement.
Oftentimes, the cause of the problem is a physical or mental illness of the offender, detected or unknown to the attacker. A pathological problem is the first cause to be suspected, when attacked.
Therefore, by delaying or disengaging, the defender can allow time to resolve an issue that may seem, otherwise, urgent. It is more humane.

This does not mean that one should be tolerant with a scientific error. This must be confronted with a main method of peace: silence.
Only then, can we hope the divine nature of each one to be manifested and truth win. No opposition is also then a method of peace.
Even though the heart may revolt at such attacks, such as Russia invading Ukraine, Ukraine feeding in more weapons "for peace" instead of peace by neighbors, or aged French being denied pensions so that the state can spend more on weapons, or gas in Brazil (self-sufficient in oil) goes up because of Russia, or South America that has been involved in AUKUS, we need to have faith.
That means to know all is Allright. God always hold all the dice, and evolution is relentless. ResearchGate, Russia, France, and South America will evolve too.
The apparent setback is just to give more chances to our brothers in danger. They need to evolve too, and science wins.
Some people make questions in ResearchGate to attract you ... not to be able to better help you ... but to better attack you, to somehow try to control you better.
One can see that with cats, and with females in "cat fights". Run from this behavior.
This will evolve, given time. Grief, for example, is often used to attract. A "sob story" gets more attention in LinkedIn.
But, grief stories, PTSD narratives, and sob stories, are not just pathological.
They are incompatible with the idea of God, of perfection in everything. God in perfect goodness would not allow a PTSD, God does not "lead you in temptation" as a bad translation says.
Albeit a PTSD they can be human made ... by self. A lie, no one truly has PTSD ... because there was no "trauma" to begin with, just a needed lesson.
No one is a victim, all is justly correct. There must anterior cause for that ... in this or in a previous life, for example, even millenia removed.
But they are more than just pathological... they can be infecting. But they are a waste of time and, eventually, will flow dead down the river of time.
Don't give room to grief. What is gone is gone.
There is a higher purpose on whatever is not there anymore. Free those you love. No one dies, we all transition to other realms of existence ... and communicate. Let that communication be of peace.

What do U mean by this ?
On this month of Ramadan, my meditation of extending love to all, which Jesus named as his new commandment, brought me to a new use of the RG tool that allows us to block whoever we want.
What? A positive result? Yes, we all receive way too much email, and this allows us to focus effort on those who speak the same language. The others, will be also helped in other realms.
A spiritual principle, respecting freewill, is to not pardon.
There is no need to pardon, which defeats many PTSDs, and disgruntled behaviors -- reducing stress, anger, and improving health. God does not forbid -- everything that happens is pre-approved before. All is right.
To have faith is to know that "everything is right".
We need to learn to always say "Grace", shine some light, and move on. It is a long evolution, and we live forever. The sooner we learn to be happy, the better.
