In the following years, more and more sci-fi movies were being made, in which the plot was somewhere in space with the participation of people meeting or even cooperating with other humanlike intelligent beings.

Will the concept of science-fiction genetic experiments to recreate the long-extinct dinosaur species used in the plot of the film "Jurassic Park" ever be possible?

The plot of the film "Jurassic Park" directed by Steven Spielberg is based on a simple, but currently unrealistic concept of laboratory testing of the reproduction of long-extinct dinosaur species.

The collected genetic material of dinosaurs from the blood of a mosquito sunken for millions of years in amber is the main material on the basis of which extinct dinosaur species are recreated.

The genetic material obtained in this way introduced into the germ cell of modern reptiles in the film gives the possibility of reproduction of extinct reptile species.

This idea is based on modern research and genetic experiments carried out in laboratories, whose aim is to create, for example, new crop varieties or produce drugs for specific diseases.

However, the reproduction of long-extinct species such as dinosaurs is still not possible because the genetic material undergoes deep fragmentation over millions of years.

The genetic chain of chromosomes breaks down into very short fragments. So short that there is no information on how to assemble them into whole chromosomes and the lack of enzymes that would be able to fragment these fragmented dinosaur DNA pieces into whole chromosomes.

But the technology of genetic research is developing. The whole genomes of various species of animals, plants and other life forms are studied. The knowledge base of genotypes and related species is successively growing in the Big Data resources created for this purpose.

Therefore, the question arises: Will the fantastic research concept applied in the plot of the film "Jurassic Park" ever be possible? Will it be possible to recreate long-extinct animal and plant species with the help of subsequent generations of research in the field of genetics in the future?

Will it be possible to create a real Jurassic Park in the future, within which dinosaurs will run among the vegetation composed, among others, of flowering and woody ferns, horsetail and ferns, or the restoration of the ecosystem from millions of years ago?

At the McFly house in 2015, we have a rich futuristic gallery and mostly hit ideas. Family members wear goggles with colorful LEDs at home, whose idea vividly resembles Google Glass or Oculus Rift. When the videophone speaks at the McFly, information about who the addressee of the call is displayed in the goggles. On the topic of predicting future technology, science fiction writers hit the mark but miss, as well. It was "The Machine Stops" a 1909 novella by a non-SF writer, E. M. Forster (British) that first predicted the Internet as a social disaster.

And " In the preface to his Collected Short Stories (1947), Forster wrote that "'The Machine Stops' is a reaction to one of the earlier heavens of H. G. Wells." In The Time Machine, Wells had pictured the childlike Eloi living the life of leisure of Greek gods whilst the working Morlocks lived underground and kept their whole idyllic existence going. The Manicheanism in an either-or approach seems unwarranted to me. Both Forster and Wells have valid predictions about society. Forster is simplistic in the reaction against technology and "going back to nature" as a cure. As Tom Stoppard writes in his play based upon Fermat's Last Theorem, "You can't unstir the pudding." That should be obvious. We cannot solve depletion of natural resources by "Going back to nature" as Forster implies.

But Wells may have over simplified in his Swiftian satire on class-biased England of the 1890s. The power of religion in society is one thing he minimized as a factor in the future. He got it right about socio-economic classes floating farther and farther into inequality, but he did not see the social ordering via religion in the future as the poor struggle to see a way out. In short, Wells over-estimated the scope of technology/ technocracy in ordering and saving society from itself.

But--happily--maybe the two together can be like viewing an object with two kinds of light such as infrared and ultraviolet.

Science fiction is a genre used in some movies and novels employing certain speculative, fictional science-based depictions of phenomena that have not been materialized in human life yet and are not completely endorsed by mainstream science. The themes range from extraterrestrial life and alien worlds to extrasensory perception and time travel along with extraordinary elements with a scientific color such as spaceships ,robots, cyborgs, interstellar travel or other technologies and envisage a strikingly amazing panorama of future realities. I personally agree with Ray Bradbury , who states , “Science fiction is the most important literature in the history of the world, because it's the history of ideas, the history of our civilization birthing itself. ...Science fiction is central to everything we've ever done, and people who make fun of science fiction writers don't know what they're talking about.” Therefore, futurological visions of future technologies and inventions, as you astutely maintain, portray some of the realities and ambitions that have not been actualized yet, but may come true some time in future.

As you know, there are a number of specialties and subgenres within Sf. The older pulp fiction and bck to Jule Verne did focus upon the societal effects of technological inventions and innovations in society (tech or otherwise.) "Sociological science fiction."

But other streams are more comparative and this is an important distancing focus of SF. We here on earth have trouble thinking as one whole planet, dp we not? By centering between ourselves and some other world's inhabitants in contact with us (film _Arrival_), we can gain (sometimes) new ways of thinking about earth's problems.
