There is some controversy regarding NIH-3T3 due to its tumorigenicity and metastatic potential under certain conditions. If so, design of experiments to evaluate therapeutic potential by comparing cytotoxicity of cancer cells with NIH-3T3 (as normal cells) seems not only far-fetched but also completely fallacious. Also, is it justifiable to use NIH-3T3 as a model to represent the effect of a particular therapeutic agent on normal human cells?
