I would like to investigate the ability of an experimental treatment to inhibit T cell proliferation/survival in vitro after stimulation with anti-CD3/CD28. I also want to determine if the treatment is broadly toxic. I realize inhibiting T cell activation in vitro will also cause cell death, which makes it difficult to distinguish broad drug toxicity vs. cells dying after selective inhibition of activation. I was wondering if addition of IL-7 or any other treatments will allow naive T cells that do not become activated in culture to survive for 3 days.
