I am planning to use human iPSC derived neural stem cells to differentiate and study Alzheimer's disease. For the immunofluorescence assay can I use Tyrosine Hydroxylase? or is it suitable only for differentiated dopaminergic neurons?
If so can I get a suggestion for any other marker?

We use flow cytometry and the markers TRA-1-81, OCT 3/4, and SSEA-4 to regularly assess pluripotency in our hiPSCs. As our cells are most often differentiated to mature midbrain DA neurons, we use flow cytometry and the markers TH, FOXA2 (midbrain marker), LMX1A (midbrain marker), and NURR1 (mature DA neuron marker) to assess the degree to which the directed differentiation was successful. Since you are studying Alzheimer's disease, I wonder why you would use TH as a marker rather than a marker of neurons (e.g., NeuN) or a marker of forebrain neurons. Also, you may want to consider that although microscopy would be a good approach, flow cytometry might yield the same answer yet do so more efficiently than microscopy. Best of luck!

I simultaneously study Parkinson's Disease which uses TH in fluorescence imaging. However, I can use separate one for Alzheimer's.
