However, the main concern is the types and concentrations of impurities (including suspended solids) which could gradually deposit on the membrane surface. The formation of fouling/scaling layer on the membrane surface will prohibit the functionality of the membrane.
When treating wastewaters generally a layer of suspended matter has been formed and perhaps It contaminates and clogs the pores of the membrane separator....so the membrane efficiency decreases and you need to clean it every time....
