In custom microscope setting, installing second objective lens serial, that match its focal distance to image plane formed by first objective lens, may give additional magnification.

I think this might have some benefit, such as lower price and long working distance. Is there reason make this idea terrible, except mechanical complexity and low numerical aperture?
