Hi all,

I am planning to travel to a remote island for my field sampling. Due to the aviation rules, I am unable to transport undenatured ethanol with me to the island. Nevertheless, I have secured some denatured ethanol at the island.

I am aware that the additives in undenatured ethanol might inhibit the DNA extraction process or reduce the quality of the DNA. But, if I preserve the specimen with denatured ethanol, but change to undenatured after 2 weeks when I returned to my lab. Will this process be okay for preserving the DNA for DNA extraction?

Thank you very much for your attention.

Best,

Boo
