Hi,
I am trying to set up a hemagglutination assay to check the activity of some recombinant galectins. The standard is a hemagglutination assay, but all the protocols use freshly obtained blood.
The easiest blood to get is commercially available defibrinated horse blood.
Is defibrinated blood still ok to use for hemagglutination assays after I do all the washing steps to get the RBCs into 4% solution. I couldn't find a clear answer elsewhere.
Thanks in advance.
