I am working on a hydrologic model using clark unit hydrograph method as a transform model in HEC HMS. The catchment contain many physical ponds (small ponds), and i need to apply ponding factor to consider the physical ponds effect.
the question is, Can i apply ponding factor in the model while I am using clark unit hydrograph? and how to apply it ?

Looking through out the HMS Reference Manual, I think the Clark model already represents the impact of storage of watershed in the mathematical model. You can see from manual the following:
"Clark's model derives a watershed UH by explicitly representing two critical processes in the transformation of excess precipitation to runoff:
(...)
Attenuation or reduction of the magnitude of the discharge as the
excess is stored throughout the watershed.
(...)
With Clark's model, the linear reservoir represents the aggregated impacts of all watershed storage."
I believe that, if you are going to use the Clark method, you should estimate the storage coefficient for you model (equivalent to all small ponds), using calibration or the inflection point, as said in manual. Other alternative, you could try model like a semi-distributed approach, with many basins connected to the ponds.

Unfortunately, I am working on ungauged basin. Clark's model parameters had been estimated based on equations which had been produced from a calibrated model in another basin.
The two basin are similar except that I have additional ponds in the ungauged basin.
