Can I use chloroform-methanol lipid extraction method to extract lipid after sudan-IV staining?

I'm doing the atherosclerosis experiment. After extract aorta, I want to using Sudan-IV staining to observe the atherosclerosis change. Can I use chloroform-methanol lipid extraction method to extract lipid of aorta after Sudan-IV staining? If could, what's the protocol of chloroform-methanol lipid extraction method? Thanks.
