I'm running an experiment on Dorsal Root Ganglion neural cell line, and as part of my experiment I need to inhibit the intrinsic\Mitochondrial caspase pathway.

To measure the effect of the inhibitor, I'm using an assay for a downstream effector caspase (Caspase 3) to report the degree of inhibition of my compound, since I wasn't able to acquire a caspase-9 assay.

Is it a correct way to report the effect of my compound? What could possibly be a criticizing point for this method?
