need to apply mAb against DDR1 and DDR2 to block their action in vitro. My plan is to apply the mAbs directly to the cells in well. But confused, whether the typical antibodies can block their function completely?
Depends on the binding site of the antibody. If nobody has tested them before for this purpose, it's up to you to find out. It also could happen that the ABs are mimicking the ligand and activate the receptor or behave rather indifferently. If you have information about the paratope(s) of the antibodies (the sequence/motif they recognize on the receptor) and a model of the receptor and its function, you might be able to do some educated guessing.
If there should be any documented inhibitors, you might be better off trying them first.
