Do you have anhydrous ammonium sulphate in analytical grade? Based on my knowledge, this compound is unstable usually and commonly find as other sulphate salts.

Generally in extraction process anhydrous sodium sulphate is suggested for the dehydration step because its stable and can be totally dried in a high temperature oven if mainained under the unsuitable conditions.
