I came to know that Tris having primary amine group may interact with iTRAQ labels, and TEAB is an advised buffer to be used post precipitation; but if I don't have TEAB at present can I use another carbonate based buffer which is widely used in biological mass spec as a buffer (Ammonium Bicarbonate)?
Not recommended. Just perform a quick google search with ammonium bicarbonate and itraq.

Try HEPES, MOPS see the list mentioned in the link above.

Hi Joel,
Make sure that you test your TEAB buffer periodically before labeling precious samples. I recently had a problem with TEAB and swithced to HEPES buffer..
