Probably you can, but keep in mind that pyridine is a basic compound while pyrroline is acidic. This may be reflected in your chromatography when the GC system contains residual active sides.
I have tried with 2,4,6-TMP. But it is not working. In GC-MS-SIM, TMP peaks are not coming with 2AP. Even A specific peak for 2AP is not coming at the desired RT (as per literature). I followed more than 4 extraction methods and programs from different literature on rice aroma. In each cases after solvent extraction, I am able to detect 2AP through sensory test. Only thing that I could see in the SIM mode, is the m/z 41 through out the whole chromatogram. And all the peaks are showing same fragmentation pattern of 2AP.
