I would say yes, you just have to make sure you don't put too much power in. Pulse width may be an issue, but it seems to be compatible. The other thing that you have to take care of is getting the right triggering signal
Besides the issues raised by Raul Rangel-Rojo, there is also the question of spatial mode matching. Ideally you want the seed beam to match closely the spatial mode of the LIBRA amplifier. However I see no fundamental reason why seeding the LIBRA with the Mai-Tai wouldn't work.
Thanks to Raul and Michael! I am worried for the bandwidth difference of the Libra Vitesse (30nm) and Mai-Tai (10nm)!! The seed beam of Mai-Tai will not spread enough after grating in the stretcher for amplification!! Worried for the damage of the mirror.
I am confused. The Mai-Tai has a slightly shorter pulse so it's bandwidth should be slightly greater than the Vitesse. Looking at the data sheet for the Vitesse, the specified bandwidth is >10nm (FWHM), but probably is not much greater than 10nm if the pulse width is 100 fs at a central wavelength of 800nm. A 30 nm bandwidth would support 25 fs pulses assuming a sech squared temporal profile.
