Hello Joel Bazira (HIV)viral load can be measured in 3 main ways . A so colled and very common reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), branched DNA (bDNA) in which ONLY the signal (but not the target-sequence like in RT-PCR) is amplified, and finally ,nucleic acid sequence-based amplification (NASBA) test would be a 3rd way to try to measure / calculate the viral load (in samples). I dont know which method is of your interest. I used in the past the modified bDNA assay with shortened target incubation time and RT-PCR.
