I was wondering whether I should autoclave or filter d-mannose solution.
In our laboratory, we autoclave glucose separately when we make YPD media for yeast culture.
So, I am using the same method ( autoclave d-mannose + distilled water only).
Does anyone know if it is okay to autoclave d-mannose?

I have autoclaved purified fractions of D-mannose from yeast cell wall and had no issues. I was using them to agglutinate bacteria.
However, we tend to sterile filter our carbon source media additives, i.e. dextrose, for bacteria. High temperatures could char your mannose as has been noted in autoclaved dextrose solutions (https://www.researchgate.net/post/Is-it-really-suitable-to-autoclave-glucose-solution). Whether or not these structural changes affect yeast carbon metabolism is up for debate, but it would be a straightforward experiment.
Our protocol involves making a 50% dextrose solution by stirring continuously over heat. The sugar goes into solution eventually and can be sterile filtered.
