Can GAPDH be used as housekeeping gene for plasma miRNA expression profile?

I did plasma viral miRNA expression and used GAPDH as housekeeping gene, as I seen recent publication that plasma free GAPDH can be used as reference gene for plasma viral gene expression profile. But some are saying that GAPDH can't be used as reference gene for plasma/serum miRNA expression profile. So my entire procedure is wrong?
