Can E. coli BL21(DE) strain be used for protein expression with pBAD system?

Hey there,

I want to express a protein in E. coli using the pBAD system/vector.

My lab usually uses the strains BL21(DE), BL21 STAR and BL21 ROSETTA. All of them are designed for T7 promotor vectors.

Is there anyone who has experience using these strains with the pBAD system?

There is no reason to use those strains for a plasmid that does not have the T7 promoter, but on the other hand it should still work fine for your pBAD plasmids.
