How can we prevent the Type 1 diabetes? Is there any exact environmental trigger that is provocative evidence for the number of factors? Such as early exposure to cow's milk, certain viral strins, and lack of stimulation of immune system at an early age by natural exposure to infective agents.
Please share any suggestions and evidence on specific recommendations for avoidance of, or immunization against, specific potential triggering agents.
As you have mentioned, these are some of the triggering factors for diabetes (Specially Type I). However in the case of diabetes any of the above factor alone or together with other causes diabetes. So its difficult to prevent.
However I can say that regular exercise and healthy food can keep you away from diabetes.
Unfortunately, there is no exact environmental trigger. There are only risk factors that increase the likelihood that T1D will develop in those predisposed by genetic factors. There are over 40 genetic loci which have been associated with predisposition to T1D. These generally account for 40-50% of the risk, however, the incidence of T1D is increasing worldwide at rates which cannot be explained by genetic factors. I have attached a review that may provide a good starting point for your research into the various environmental risk factors. Also, while it is true that exercise and diet can help to manage T1D, these interventions will not repair the auto-destruction of beta-cells or keep diabetes away. This is the case only for T2D.
