In conventional practices of Somatic cell counting in cattle milk samples under microscope, color stains were added to milk samples in order to segregate somatic cells from fat globules and also to define a cell boundary for counting the somatic cells.
Is there any research ongoing or already available for; somatic cell counting without adding any color stains and viewed under microscope ???
You can try in qualitative work,but in case you attain research work the staining is necessary.
You can count somatic cell with colour strains under microscope. Another way is inpossible.

stain would be required to enumerate the somatic cell count under microscope ...stain used is L W stain ,,,it should give give dark blue colour .
