Arsenic (As) is a heavy metal which is not good for human health exceeding in a certain concentration. But some arsenical substances are recommended in the treatment of Covid-19. If it is fact, what will be the concentration of As in the prescribed medicine?
@ Abdul, yes it can be as the therapeutic effect of arsenic trioxide was explored for the first time in a model of chronically SIV‐infected macaques. In combination with ART, arsenic trioxide can significantly reduce the viral reservoirs and delay viral rebound after ART termination in this macaque model. But the concentration should be below 10 ppb as the levels above 10 ppb will increase the risk of long-term or chronic health problems. The higher the level and length of exposure, the greater the risk.
J. C. Tarafdar has mentioned important points. As has been used in medicine for the treatment of many diseases. But the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has identified arsenic as carcinogenic and epidemiological studies has proven the claim.

As is a 'Heavy metal' and is dangerous to humans especially As(V), it may only be used as a component of pesticides.
Arsenic is very harmful for human beings and have carcinogenic effects but if Arsenic trioxideit is used at very small amount that is in between 5 ppm to 7 ppm then it may be used for the treatment purpose also.
Arsenic Trioxide is to treat a type of cancer known as acute promyelocyte leukemia. But no doubt, arsenic is harmful and also carcinogenic. Beta mRNA covid19 is being mutated. Arsenic has no anti mutagenic action. So it may be an element for the preparation of the drug,but can't be a perfect drug for the treatment of covid19.
Dear Md. Abul Kalam Azad personally I would not want to take any arsenic-containing medicine. However, there are reports about a homeopathic drug named "Arsenicum album" which has been claimed to be effective against COVID-19.
