This buffer has PVP K90, 2%CTAB, 2M NaCl, Tris EDTA and 4M guanidium thiocyanate. Actually the protocol uses PVPP but I don't have that and can only use PVP-K90. Next is TRIzol isolation but PVP K90 is not compatible with phenol

You are better using a hot phenol method

Thanks for the suggestion. However will this method be effective in removing polyphenols and polysaccharides since they coprecipitate with RNA ?

You can find the buffer composition and protocol in attached paper. I have tried this on Banana leaf, fruit, roots, bract etc and found working nicely.
