Concerning crossed profiles it depends what you want to invert for. Different source excitations provide you with different polarisations. In this sense you have to be careful as to which wave types you are investigating (i.e. Rayleigh and Love waves require different acquisition between each other). Of course it depends on the joint approach that you apply and also the frequency steps that you are using, since I assume you start from lower high pass filter and increase it over the coarse of the iterations.

Dear Nikolaos,

In FWI,  I am using same parameter set including grid dimensions, frequencies and their interval and all other inversion parameters for invrting P-wave velocity using Visco-acoustic FWI for two crossed SBN lines (Wide-angle offshore data) stating from low frequency to high frequency.

the only difference between two SBN lines is that, One line having with 4ms & other having 8ms sampling data.

After FWI, We are observing very good agreement between synthetic & observed data in frequency domain at each frequency group, But at cross position we are not getting that much confident results as we have seen in comparison of data.

I want to know the justification for this type of FWI results.
