Can anyone please explain about the parameters which can be useful for discriminate P and S waves except arrival time and velocity?
Best Regards,
Damodara
Add attenuation as well, S waves often get attenuated very fast. Also their polarization is another parameter.
One important property to distinguish P and S waves is that P waves can travel through liquids and S waves cannot.
You can distinguish P & S waves by the wavelengths. The wavefronts of P waves are definitely wider than those of S waves in the same medium.
