We have synthesized iron nanoparticles for the purpose of studying it with the protein of interest. The protein is adsorbed to the nanoparticles. During desorption of the particle from the protein almost 50 % percent of the population is found to be nanoparticle-protein complex (adduct) and could not be desorbed from the particle. Can anyone suggest a suitable strategy to purify the nanoparticle-protein complex as such from the unbound protein other than ion exchange chromatography?
