I've been searching for equipment for packing analytical HPLC columns (4.6 to 2.1 mm in diameter), but seem to find only very limited information about the equipment used for packing these columns. Most of the information out there is about packing very large preparative columns, but I can't find anything beyond the small portable Restek model or Galak for packing HPLC columns. Especially, I'm looking for information about the systems that a commercial company like Phenomenex, Waters, Agilent, etc would use for packing large numbers of them, and with high reproducibility.
Any information would be much appreciated.

Column packing (along with column media sizing / grading) is the secret sauce of how to make a column. I suspect that it is closely guarded, even within these companies.
