Can anyone suggest a method for isolation of glyoxalated ssDNA from 50% DMSO?

Has anyone isolated glyoxalated (and thus single-stranded) DNA from the glyoxalation buffer (1 M glyoxal, 50% DMSO, 10 mM sodium phosphate/pH 7)?

What is the best method? Fragment sizes of interest are 100-6000 bases.

Extract it out with cold butanol , and go for PAGE electrophoresis or southern blot analsysi.
