I'm looking for some good suggestions to do a decent project in a EV vehicle where I'll be able to do reverse engineering and analyse the components used in it. The project span will be around 2 months and I can tear-down the components for study. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Considering such devices and data are naturally distributed, heterogeneous, small in size, compared to the cloud and big data, it is interesting to create meaningful outcomes from small data in a decentralized style. Our recent research uses federated learning to create an optimized global model in beating DDoS attackers. Hopefully, it gives you some clues.
Are you looking for only reverse engineering? If not possible projects that come to mind are:
1. sensing of pollution and automatic oxygen enhancement inside cars.
2. sensing parking position in malls /streets/ airports and transmitting to cell phone.
3. sensing unauthorised person in driving seat based on posture,smell?,fingerprint
on steering wheel etc
4. beeping if too near objects
5.warning of fuel in tank to cell phone..
6. alarm if pets are locked in parking too long
7. alarm if home garage lock is not inside car when
taking car out
8. dynamic monitoring of tyre pressure

A great initiative. As you are focussing on EV, there can be a lot of opportunities for development. I can suggest working on effective traffic congestion monitoring through IOT. This can be a good opportunity for developing EV as it diminishes obvious drawbacks such as pollution.
Commendable suggestion from Nilava . Following might be of
interest:
1. If Evs become the main population , they can talk to each other
and avoid collision , facilitate overtaking , guide to empty parking lots etc.
2. By sending back positions, perhaps optimised AI traffic flow could be used .
3. Manage roundabout traffic even in isolated areas.
