Is there any one pot synthesis method to fabricate gold nanorods coated metal oxide through wet chemical route? I have been trying to fabricate AuNR coated gallium oxide but not able to attain desire results. Kindly suggest some methods
Dear Narayanan, I think there must have such methods. Here I just give possible one. Maybe you can use a kind of link moecules. One end of the molecules can combaine onto the Au surface (just via NH2-Au interaction), and another end can linked onto the oxides (via OH-oxide interaction). So, these molecules may induce the assembly of the Au NRs onto the bigger sized metal oxides in a liquid system.

You don’t write what gallium oxide you are trying to gold and what you are using gold salt or acid for the coating. Ga2O is a strong reducing agent and can react with a gold precursor. Ga2O3 is amphoteric and has properties and its properties are pH dependent. All of this must be taken into account when carrying out your reaction for plating gallium oxides with gold.
