Can anyone give me information about Why different species of moth (larva) only being a stored product pest not butterfly (larva) species? Though not having major differences between this two groups
Karthi, moths are nocturnal and many larvae of microlepidoptera are pest of grain and stored products. Butterflies instead are diurnal and the larvae feed mostly on leaves and plant tissue so they need open areas for mating and oviposition, unlike stored product pests.
