Can anyone send me the protocol for growing rice in hydroponic culture, recommended by International Rice Research Institute (IRRI)?
Normally under Hydroponics, roots will not be longer as obvious, because, when there is no dearth of nutrients and water, why do roots has to waste its energy in making longer root However, under field condition, it needs to extract the nutrients and hence it may have extended roots. Exactly I am not sure about your purpose. However, if you are studying any stress like drought or nutrient then it may not give the true picture as in field condition. If you wish to go for root studies, the methodology from IRRI has been enclosed.
However I am enclosing few reprints for your reference, which may be useful to go for rice cultivation under controlled conditions
