Vertical farming is definitely a future technology.
The high building, yes we can make money out of it as compared to greenhouse farms.
The point here is to make cities capable of producing food (especially vegetables, herbs and small fruits). An integration of insect species as food is feasible also. However, its ability to generate money like any entrepreneurial activity will depend by the resources already available to do this (for example, access to an old building will be a plus compared to having to build one). My concern however is related to the energy costs for water, light, ventilation, cooling, or heating this environment and the associated infrastructure to design and support this new kind of food production systems.
It is still a niche market. Production technology is available ans is the easier part. Developing a market for these produce is the challenge.
Yes you can make money out of vertical forming provided it is located in cities or in the close vicinity of larges cities providing fresh vegetables. In the best case this can be combined with the production of fishes

Ocean farming.
As oppose to vertical farming, there is 'Ocean farming', which plants are grown under oceans. Ocean has 70% Earth surface. See attachment. The photos shows Nemo's Garden. It's an underwater farm created by the Ocean Reef Group. The project was started as an experiment as the owner's crops were suffering in cold weather. Nemo's Garden utilizes the near constant temperature of the sea to make growing plants easier. They are growing basil, tomatoes, and strawberries. In 2018, they had 6 under-ocean greenhouses and 700 plants.

Vertical farming is the future technology. Yes it certainly be better than the green house, but for farmers with proper Knowledge. The most feasible site for vertical farm is the periurban and urban areas, as they need fresh greens.

See my previous answer. In the paper, A 27-story of building was used for vertical farming. The upper layers were for growing fresh greens, and the lower layers were for fish farming.
Any improvements in farming definitely will bring the trend also the income for you...but, we should consider what is the environmental impact rather than the outcomes for sky farming...
for example, if sky farming gave higher yield than greenhouse but the rate of pollution is way higher than that of greenhouse, will it still be the choice for future? Consideration in all aspects is needed to ensure we do have the future before we have high yield but destroying the future when we are developing...
It is a need of the hour where agricultural land is scarce. Since J&K is an Agricultural State currently we do not require it. However in Urban areas like Srinagar where land agricultural land is shrinking this type of initiative can be taken. It is on board and producers are getting benefit using this SMART farming technology. I hope it is a limelight to fight food shortage associated with rapid increment of the global population.
Yes, you can make money from the sky farming. For the peoples who live in cities can opt this farming and grows vegetables and herbs etc. to which they can sell and make money as well as this farming also helps to renowate the environment by proving fresh air.
Looking at the startup cost plan and sustainable technology to optimize the produce and returns from this type of investment I.e. farming system. One may realize that it may have viability challenge in the long run. It may by a promising alternative system of farming driven by technology but requires tactics n strategic approach, and R&D to be attractive
