I have come across ARMS PCR for 'simple' mutation analysis, is it as straight-forward as the schematic diagrams would have you believe? What are the considerations that are key to look out for?
If you have tried using ARMS for KRAS can you suggest primer sets, or a suitable primer resource (for finding / designing them)? Ultimately it would be useful to have a simple screen / assay that might be cheaper than some of the other options.

However its main application is to design tetra-ARMS PCR primer (2 primer pair per SNP/mutation ), you can choose one pair of provided primers.
I have been searched for a free tool to design allele specific primer with second mismatch consideration and I come across Primer1.
