I'm following the protocol on the "Determination of Nitrate" from the following book:

http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Biological-Methods-Seawater-Analysis/dp/0080302874/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460562118&sr=8-1&keywords=a+manual+of+chemical+and+biological+methods+for+seawater+analysis

And it calls for copper wool turnings for the nitrate reduction column. I have had success finding reagent grade copper turnings (https://www.fishersci.com/shop/products/copper-99-turnings-acros-organics-2/p-222929) and copper wool (http://www.agilent.com/store/productDetail.jsp?catalogId=3162-0083) but I'm concerned neither products are fine enough mesh for the protocol. Does anyone have experience with this or can recommend a copper mesh that might work?

Might something like this suffice? http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/stuffit-copper-mesh-p-1463.html
