HI. A while back I have used an RIA for oxytocin. I think it was GE healthcare but used to be ICN Biomedical. For AVP you might try Cayman. Also, another favorite kit company of mine is Arbor Assays out of Michigan. I like their kits and tech line.
It was a long time ago, I do not recall. It may have been both but at least plasma. Please check out the online protocols for these assays. They will list the viable sample types.
It is interesting that neuropetide Y, oxytocin and vasopressin receptors are present also in Humans (please see file; The Fascio effect). Interestingly, thiol-type human serum biotinidase/enkephalin aminoexopeptidase is working as the metabolizing enzyme of the neuropeptides in Humans (please see file; Enk serumBIN). Further, brain lipoamidase (from pig brain) has also aminoexopeptidase activity (please see file; Multiple hydrolase LIP).
Then, our aminoexopeptidase data suggest that neuropeptide Y and substance P are not present in Humans.
Then, neuropeptide Y receptor and substance P receptor of Humans may be handling another neuropeptides.
Please, do not use notorious ELISA and/or RIA method, which give c.a. 2,000-fold low values than quantitative PDMD method (please see files; HepG2 Fucoidan and JMBT alopecia).
