Often much data is accrued as part of a research project. Data is sometimes made available as part of the publication process - but not always. Further, many data are often gathered that don't necessarily fall within the umbrella of the original question or research project, but can be of great value to other researchers.
Hey Matt, I'd say it depends on the data. You can upload your data in repositories like Zenodo or Dryad. If you have spatial data, GBIF can also be a good place where to share your data on the distribution of species. There are also dedicated platforms for community science like eBird and eButterfly. So it really depends on the quality of data that you have available and on your goal.
Federico Riva Thanks for your suggestions! iNaturalist is a good platform for individual species observations but not great for larger datasets. Currently you can only upload single species observations one at a time. Dryad looks like the most promising suggestion - where large biodiversity or species-specific datasets can be archived and used by other researchers (e.g. animal body size, growth, seasonal abundance or occupancy data).
The data you handle are "Research data" or "Research data", in that sense there are different online sources, what is needed here is to know what type of data you require and what you need it for. I do not know if there is a specific repository but you can check the National Repository of Mexico where there are several institutional repositories that handle information on the subject you want (https://www.repositorionacionalcti.mx/)

Yeah I have heard of Dryad most often but have yet to use it. If you have movement data you can add it to Movebank as well.
