I have used the USDA site to order some varieties of tomato and potato seeds to inoculate them with some plant growth promoting bacteria and study the colonization of these organisms. However, I have received an email said that they need an import permit or ship my order to a United States affiliate!
This site is located in USA and I am in UK.
So, could you please provide me with any other site (it is preferred to be in the UK) to order these seeds without any restrictions?

Enas, Try the Asian Vegetable Research Center or World Vegetable Research Center in Taiwan with a note explaining your needs for specific types of tomato. They have historically done most world on tropical adaptation and heat tolerance for the tropics. Look to Lima Peru Centro Internacional de la Papa for potato materials. Also make the contact via formal petition explaining your experimental needs. So times the agreement to share results from the investigation is useful for opening doors for receiving these materials. You may purchase potato seed from Central Potato Research Institute, Kufri, Shimla Hills, Himachal Pradesh, India
International movement of seeds and plants is highly restricted to prevent the introduction of plant pests. It is best for researchers to find sources in their own countries when at all possible.
Fortunately for you, there are ample commercial offerings of both tomatoes and potatoes in the UK. You can use the same sources that gardeners and farmers use.
(Some example to get you started, not endorsements, are Moles Seeds, Kings, Thompson & Morgan and Marshalls. Check with their commercial department if you need more than packet quantities.)
