Yes Thanks Siva, I did read that paper but 1)i dont know how to actually write in Ansys workbench, for example where should i write the commands in which section like in the contacts section or in the solution section..2)Also how do i write my own subroutine..I wanted some articles about those commands..3)I also know that in the latest version of Ansys there is Archard Equation( Equation used for wear calculation) already programmed in it....How do I enable it? 4) What is the coding in Workbench to calculate the wear volume(Need some Article related to it)?

Avinash Borgaonkar You can calculate wear volume loss in ansys workbench. But for that you need to follow a wear model (ex. Archard wear model), which can be enabled in ansys version starting from 12.0. This can be enabled by inserting commands into the simulation.

Dear Tanmay, please can you tell me how to enable Archard wear model in Ansys by inserting commands. I dont know exactly how to write the command and in which section I have to add. Please provide the guidance.

You need to insert the command into the contacts section where you provide contact between bodies and most importantly you need the value of dimensionless K(Coefficient of wear) which can be found out by conducting experiments

Please refer, Ansys manual for that...and refer the paper of Dr.Marc Horner,( Wear analysis of knee joint).

i am inserting commands in ansys workbench under connections branch to activate Archard Wear model (for pin on disc like arrangement). i am encountering some problems

1. i am rotating the disc by inserting rotational velocity, is it correct way of rotating the disc??

2. when wear occurs the pressure should decrease (for hemispherical body), but pressure is increasing. y?

I am doing my major project to find the wear behavior and coefficient of friction on the aluminum material but due to lockdown I don't have the way to proceed with an experiment on pin-on-disc, so is there any way to proceed to find the wear.
