It is likely an arable weed, growing among tomato field crops in the northern KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. This weed was found to be infected with a strain of Tomato torrado virus (ToTV) (hence the virus-like symptoms).

Professor Yehya I took this image during a survey in 2015 and unfortunately, these arable weeds were not flowering at the time. Moreover, the virus discovery was serendipitous. After compiling a very interesting study, the journal wants more details of this newly identified alternative host. I don't have anymore of the infected leaf tissue samples to identify this weed using a genomics approach, therefore, I am hoping that some expert may be able to assist.
