Hello i agree with my previous colleague that you should post the image you want interpretation  .having said so ,i worked on human enamel  SEM,however i found one of the very interesting articles on SEM of mouse enamel by  colleagues entitled

the images are excellent and it can give you an idea on SEM on mouse enamel and you can compare to your images on rat enamel .i have attached the article here for your enjoyment

also look for articles by Vibeke Weile, Kaj Josephsen, Ole Fejerskov,and other articles by  M. Kishino, T. Ogawa, T. Hamada, T. Inoue andalso by  warshawski and Alan Boyd ,they are more o rat enamel than mice

Hello Dr Muthu MS;

i looked at your pictures and noticed that there is an increased number of  of Debris on the specimen which has to be removed first before you sputter the  specimen.

second the resolution needs improvement  and finally you need to acid etch the area of enamel  you want to examine.  If yo do all these you will get  good results  .I have included here an actual paper   this time on rat enamel SEM note the technique  used for acid etching the specimen which is discussed in the paper.. The specimens were polished,etched for three periods of five seconds in 1.3% HNO, (Fosse, '681, dehydrated.

i used the same technique in sectioning using  the Gilling Hammco sectioning machine but acid etched with phosphoric acid 37%,5% phosphoric acid ,(my paper is also attached )

I have included here the two papers mentioned  one by STEINAR RISNES on SEM rat enamel  and one by me  K.Galil on human enamel etching  hope the information inside will help you in your research .

Dear Dr Galil,

Thank you for the articles. We have done the processessing of the samples the same way as mentioned above in the message. We have used 1.3% nitric acid. However, we have not sectioned the tooth samples as it was too small and also we wanted to evaluate the surface of the enamel. Can i ask my Graduate student to communicate with you in this regard with the images and sample details and the aims and objectives of our work?
